This microscope was perfect for my 4 and 6 year old boys. As far as the look and feel of the toy: it has a fun and modern style and looks like a tool they would use in school so they took everything so seriously! They enjoyed viewing the slides and as a parent I appreciated the fact that there wasn't too much fiddling with settings before they were able to see each slide. They lose patience quickly but this microscope kept their attention for a long time and it is sturdy so I can leave it out without fear of them breaking it which is crucial with my age boys!

This is an awesome microscope. My daughter was finding all sorts of things to examine. She was comparing uplight and downlight, the different magnification and of turning the slide gave different images. As an added bonus, we know it can take a licking. I knocked it onto the floor from a 4 foot shelf and it was fine.

Good for the Kids. My daughters love this microscope. First time when you view the samples, make you sure you have adjusted the focus knob. The reason I am telling this is, we were excited on receiving the product and forgot to read the manual and adjust the focus knob and the samples looked blurry. So silly.

Came as described, built sturdy for young ones and I think my daughter likes it as much as my granddaughter who I gifted this for Christmas.
